Free News Subscriptions
The Penn Libraries hosts subscriptions for several major news media websites, magazines, and mobile applications, at no cost to Penn students, faculty, and staff. These typically require an initial website registration through PennKey authentication. Examples of the most popular subscriptions you have access to include:
- The New York Times
- The Washington Post
- The Wall Street Journal
- Education Week
- Inside Higher Ed (register for free on IHE's website)
- The Chronicle of Higher Education
Penn Libraries News Subscriptions
Read The Philadelphia Inquirer
We strongly encourage the Penn GSE community to read The Philadelphia Inquirer.
- On campus: Use a web browser connected to PennNet or AirPennNet.
- Off campus: Use Penn's client VPN.
- Connect to https://www.inquirer.com or use the “Publisher Website” link from the Penn Libraries catalog’s Philadelphia Inquirer library catalog record
- Penn Libraries PennKey authentication tools — EZproxy Bookmarklet and Lean Library — will not provide access to the website.

Photography & Videography Permissions
Release Forms
For all photo and video shoots, signed participant consent/release forms are mandatory (including for audio). PDF e-form releases and language for registration forms can be found below:
If you need release forms in other languages, please contact Matt D’Ippolito. Forms are currently available in the following languages:
- Arabic
- Bangla/Bengali
- French (West Africa)
- Portuguese (Brazil)
- Simplified Chinese
- Spanish
Release forms are NOT required for current Penn GSE students, faculty, and staff. For all others, including alums, we need signed releases.
Event Sign-up Release Language
If you are hosting an event with photography and/or video, we strongly advise including event release language with “acknowledgment” checkboxes in your event registration form (e.g., Qualtrics).
Photo Library & University Stock
Access to the photo library (the DAM) is limited. We request that each program or department designate one team member to have access. To request access to the DAM, please contact Matt D’Ippolito.
The University also provides the following campus stock photography to help meet your needs:
